BILL EDDINS

Board Member

Bill Eddins currently serves as the Head Women’s Golf Coach and Assistant Athletic Director of Club and Recreation Sport and the head women’s golf coach at Malone University. As golf coach, the competitiveness of the program is attracting the best talent it ever has and the team is chasing history to become the 1st Malone women’s team to earn a bid to the NCAA tournament. Off the course, the program is equally successful in the classroom and within the community. Community service is an integral part of the program. Eddins has coordinated highly successful fundraisers which have resulted in a new state-of-the-art hitting room on campus exclusive to the women’s team along with a large surplus to assist in the day-to-day operations of running a competitive Division 2 college golf program.

Prior to Malone, Eddins “retired” with nearly 31 years in the classroom as a public school teacher and coach including being the 8th grade Language Arts teacher of Compassion Delivered Co-Founder Amanda Anschutz at Lake Middle School. Eddins taught in the Louisville, Lake, and West Branch school districts. He served as Louisville High School’s head boys’ basketball coach from 1993-2001 collecting Division II Ohio Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year honors after leading the Leopards to the school’s only undefeated regular season in school history. He currently serves as an assistant varsity boys’ coach at West Branch High School.

Eddins has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career including having served on the Board of Newpointe Community Church, Resident Director at the University of Mount Union, and Supervisor at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Eddins is a Perry High School and Mount Union graduate where he received his degree in education. Eddins has a Master’s Degree in Sports Science from Ashland University. Eddins and his wife Amy have three children: Meghan, Matthew, and Zachary.

  • What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I love watching the Buckeyes and the Browns! I grew up as a Cleveland sports fan and a Buckeye and we all know that as Cleveland sports fans, we expect to be disappointed. Perhaps the 2016 Cavs may have turned that mindset around for us with the 2020 Browns being even more proof that “our time has come,” but if not, there’s always next year! (Lol) I also enjoy listening to Bruce Springsteen and have seen him over 50 times in concert.

  • What inspires you?

I am inspired by my student-athletes and marvel at their ability to manage academics, athletics, spiritual formation and the social aspects of college. It motivates me to help provide them with a great collegiate experience as their coach, advocate and mentor.

  • Why are you on the board of directors?

I am on the Board of Directors to help support a cause that I believe in and to make a difference for an organization that humbly and selflessly serves others. It is truly an honor and privilege to serve alongside members of the board to share and support the mission and vision of Compassion Delivered.

  • Who is a hero of yours?

My own mother is my hero. She is deceased, but will forever be my source of courage, motivation, service and strength as she exemplified all these things in her life.

  • What is something quirky about you?

Something quirky about me is that I am a neat and clean freak. I do not like clutter nor unorganization. I LOVE to clean and be efficient and effective in all that I do.
